Terms of Service

Last updated: August 18, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Margins ("Margins," "we," "us," or "our"), a fantasy football assistant application operated by Latent Data Labs, available at withmargins.com (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Margins. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Accounts

You need an account to use most of Margins' features. Account creation and sign-in are handled by our authentication provider, Clerk. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Description of the Service

Margins provides fantasy football draft and roster tools, including mock drafts, real-time multiplayer draft rooms, player rankings and projections, and an AI assistant that answers fantasy-football-related questions. Margins is not a gambling or betting platform, does not facilitate wagering, and is not affiliated with the NFL, ESPN, Yahoo, Sleeper, or any fantasy football league operator.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

Margins offers Free, Pro, and Max subscription tiers with different levels of AI assistant usage. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe, our payment processor — we never see or store your full payment card details; Stripe handles that directly. Pro and Max are available billed monthly or on a discounted 6-month term. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel anytime through your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you're moved to the Free plan. The 6-month term is prepaid and non-refundable for unused time — canceling stops renewal at the end of the paid 6-month period, but does not refund any portion of it. Canceling does not delete your account or data — see our Privacy Policy if you want your data deleted, which is a separate, explicit request. Unused AI usage allowance on Free and subscription plans does not carry over between periods unless explicitly purchased as a top-up (where offered).

Switching between the Monthly and 6-month terms is billed immediately at the time of the switch, prorated for the remaining time on your current term — you'll see the exact amount before confirming. This is different from cancellation: switching terms is a billed change that takes effect right away, not a prepaid/non-refundable period.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable advance notice.

AI usage credits and bonuses — including referral rewards and purchased Top-Ups/Power Packs — have no cash value, are non-transferable, and are not redeemable for cash. They may become unusable if we discontinue the Service, and we make no guarantee that any unused credit balance will be honored or redeemable in that event.

5. AI Assistant

Margins' AI features are powered by Anthropic's Claude models. AI responses are generated based on publicly available NFL data (player stats, projections, news, rankings) and your own draft/league activity — the AI does not have access to your name, email, or account credentials when generating a response.

AI responses are informational only and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. They are not professional advice of any kind. You are solely responsible for any fantasy football decisions you make, whether or not based on Margins' AI output. Each subscription tier includes a usage allowance; exceeding it may require a paid top-up or plan upgrade, where available.

6. Third-Party League Imports

Margins lets you import your existing fantasy leagues from Sleeper, ESPN, and Yahoo:

  • Sleeper: import uses your public Sleeper username/league ID — no credentials required, since Sleeper's data is publicly accessible.
  • ESPN: for private leagues, you can either paste your ESPN session values (espn_s2 and SWID) directly, or use a browser bookmark that reads them from your own already-signed-in ESPN session — either way, we never see your ESPN password. If you paste your values, we store them, encrypted, so future re-syncs are one click instead of repeating this step; using the bookmark instead stores nothing — re-syncing that way just means clicking the bookmark again. Re-syncing only ever happens when you explicitly trigger it, never automatically. We use these values only to read your league's data (rosters, settings, standings) — we do not make changes to your ESPN league on your behalf. If you've stored your credentials, you can disconnect ESPN at any time from your account settings, which deletes our stored copy; this does not end your underlying ESPN session, since ESPN provides no mechanism for us to revoke it directly.
  • Yahoo: import uses Yahoo's official OAuth flow. We store a refresh token, encrypted, to keep your Yahoo connection active; you can disconnect it at any time from your account settings, which deletes our stored copy. Yahoo does not give us a way to revoke the token on their end directly, but you can independently revoke Margins' access at any time from Yahoo's own account security settings.

You're responsible for the accuracy of any credentials you provide and for complying with the third-party platform's own terms of service when connecting your account.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or access controls
  • Scrape, reverse-engineer, or systematically extract data from the Service beyond normal use
  • Interfere with other users' use of multiplayer draft rooms (e.g., disrupting a live draft)
  • Use the Service to build a competing product

8. Intellectual Property

Margins and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Latent Data Labs. Player data, statistics, and projections displayed in the Service are licensed from or sourced from third parties (Sleeper, ESPN, Fantasy Nerds, nflverse) and remain subject to those parties' own rights.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any player data, projections, rankings, or AI-generated content. Fantasy sports outcomes are inherently unpredictable — nothing in the Service constitutes a guarantee of any result.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Latent Data Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including any losses related to fantasy league outcomes, decisions made based on AI output, or third-party service disruptions (e.g., Sleeper, ESPN, or Yahoo becoming unavailable).

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for violating these Terms. You may delete your account at any time; see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
